How to tie up 2010 GTX 155?

Hello,

First, welcome from Toronto, Canada. I just purchased a 2010 Seadoo GTX 155, my first Seadoo.

I have a house on the a small lake, and was wondering how you'd suggest tying it up? I have a stationary dock, and the lake is about 5ft deep at the end. Water is really calm (biggest "wave" is probably only 2-3 inches).

Do I need to get a lift? Can I just tie it to the dock? If I tied to the dock, how would you prevent it from hitting every time there was a little wave?

when you are done... take it out of the water. The SeaDoo drive system was not designed to be "Parked" in the water.

If you have a shore... then I would just make a simple ramp out of PVC pipe, and you can slide it up, and out of the water... ready to just slide it back when you are ready. If you have a wall with a dock... you need a lift.

What harm can it cause to the drive system?

I don't think I can create a ramp because it's too shallow near the shore. How low would you expect a GTX 155 to ride in the water?

Yes... it normally gets shallow at the shore. Get off the ski, and slide it up on the ramp.

The main problem is the carbon seal on the driveshaft. It leaks by design. If you leave it tied up... you may find it sunk the next morning.

Also... things will grow in the cooling lines. Yes, you have a closed loop cooling system, but you still cool the exhaust with lake water. If that gets things growing in it... you will burn up the exhaust.

plus... since you are worried about dock rash... that's just one more reason to take it out of the water

Hey bud i understand that its a new ski and such and u dont wanna scratch it up or what pulling it ashore got it here is a website that may point u into the right direction of something u may be able to make urself like he said earlier out of pvc pipe or u could just buy one of the docking stations check it out

If you have a trailer and the boat launch is not that far away that is the best option. I have 4 machines and my dad has 1 and they come out of the water every night!

We have an 05 GTX and it stays in the water all summer along with most of the Sea Doos on our lake. Most of us either use bumpers and tie the front and back or tie the front and find something stationary on shore to tie the back so it can't hit the dock. We have a granite block about 50 feet off shore with a staple through it that we use when we are gone for the week. They stay in the water for three months straight and have never had a problem with the 05 or my 96 GTS.
