Just a quick question, How many hours can I go between engine oil/filter changes on a 2008 RXP 4tec, I've asked before but the only answer I got was "change oil each season"...but now I'm coming up on 60 hours this season and am sure to at least have 60 more by seasons end. Is this OK to run 100+ hours on the same oil? How many hours do you all average per season? thanks.

I have no clue but just wanted to say that is awesome you get to ride over 100 hours a year. I'm jealous.....Guess I need to move somewhere warm.

I think by the book... it's 100 hr or once a season. But if you are in a state that is warm most of the year... then do it every 100 hr's. If, you put it away for the winter... then do it once a year. If you go over 100 Hr's... just check the oil. If it's clean, and there isn't any sign of contamination, then you are fine

I would be more worried about the washers in your supercharger coming apart, and eating your engine more than the oil.

Yeah Rfoster Florida is a good place to jetski but last year I only put 16 hours on for the whole season so I'm making it up now.....Thanks Dr Honda I was thinking around 100 hrs would be the cutoff and as far as the washers are concerned I thought 2007 was the last year they used the ceramic washers. I was told by the dealer I got it at that the 2008 rxp 215 4 tec has the new metal washers and I don't need to change them..If this ski has those ceramic ones in there I'll pull the supercharger next weekend..If anyone knows for sure if a 2008 has ceramic or not I would appreciate the update. And I wsn't worried about the washers...til now! DR Honda lol thanks

Wellllllll................................

They were supposed to be updated... but there have been threads on here about '08's that still had them.

Personally, I would check. An hour of labor could save your engine.

Argh... well I guess an ounce of prevention....and I can pull the supercharger myself so I won't even have a labor expense excuse. I think the washers are like 100bux...you think I could call BRP with a serial # and they could tell me ceramic or not on my ski? Just don't want to open it to find out I need em and have to wait to get em and have a week or so of no ski.

Wow 40 hours ....guess I'll do it every 50-60 hours. I drew up some oil this morning and it has good color and viscocity feels great (as much as you can tell by feel anyway). I do ride the crap outta that thing now. thanks jwalts
