i just put my order in to SBT for a set of wear rings and driveline repair kit (2) for my '97 challenger 1800. i know there are a lot of factors to consider but i guess i want to make sure im not expecting too much from the boat. on a calm lake, with two adults weighing a total of 350lb with 20 gallons of fuel in the boat, it took us approx 10-12 seconds from idle to get on a plane. im assuming it should be a little less then half or a 1/3 of that time, right? 4 seconds from idle to wot throttle?

also, on the twin engine challenger 1800s, can you get the boat to plane with only one engine running? we tried both sides seperately and with one engine we just made a bunch of noise and stuck the nose in the air but never got up on a plane.

ill have my parts monday, im hoping this will be a big improvement from where its at now.

Interesting question! I know 10-12 seconds is waay too long, will measure next time out but I would assume 2-3 seconds.

That is a great question! how long does it normally take, it would take me 10 to 15 seconds? Im hoping with new motor hopefully 5 seconds!

I timed it last night and it took us anywhere from 3 to 3.5 seconds with 3 adults on board and full tank. Time dropped down to 2 to 2.5 seconds with just me on board and a lil over half tank.

Wonder how much improvement can be made with different pitch impellers. If time to plane is improved the cost would be top speed correct?
