How fast should these stock skis go (96 GSX, 96 GTX, 99 GSX Limited)?

I have a 96 GSX, 96 GTX, and a 99 GSX Limited. I purchased the 99 GSX Limited to replace the 96 GSX, but it hasn't sold yet. The 96 GSX seems super fast to a newbie like me. It goes around 56-58. The 99 GSX Limited is new and I'm waiting for the weather to warm up before breaking it in so I don't know how fast it goes yet.

My 96 GTX goes about 48-50. In another thread Seadoobuddy mentioned he had the same ski and his goes around 53-55. So I'm missing around 5mph from it. Does that sound abut right?

So, rough estimates...how fast do you all think these skis should go (stock):

96 GSX
96 GTX
99 GSX Limited

Thanks all!

That's absolutely true, I remember the first time I rode a SeaDoo, and it wasn't even a particularly fast ski, a GTI. Anyway I just about slid off the seat when I took off, and it's still a thrill. I think that's what I look forward to the most at the start of the season. Coming out of the no wake zone.

I had a 96 GTX that topped out at 53 mph on GPS. Motor was a SBT rebuild. The pump & impeller were new and installed by the dealer I bought the ski from.

I bought a 99 GSXL last fall in Florida.
Spim clocked it with a GPS at 61.9 MPH...(that was before I waxed the hull :) :) )

Your wear ring on the 96 GTX may be worn a bit...did you check it yet?

yip 61.9, I was furious that I couldn't hit 62 on the bugger. duly noted it had an aftermarket prop.

96 GSX 55-56
96 GTX 50-51
99 GSX Limited 61-62

And these speeds are for a ski in flawless shape.

I'm in agreement here. these numbers are spot on from my experience.

the difference with the 99 is the mid range pull will be MUCH stronger than on the other two ski's. you'll be able to pop up from a cruising speed of 45 up to 60ish in very quick fashion.

You need to time me again on our ride. I'm a lightweight and I waxed the hull (:) :) )
