On a stock ski you can't just remove the accelerator pump, you will have to rejet the carb or it will have a bad lean hesitation out of the hole.
You will not gain any performance or more power from just removing the pump either.
If your pump is working correctly and crabs are clean there will be no hesitation or anything to gain from removing it. It will actually help performance and is why it is there because when you stab the throttle there isn't enough immediate strong vacuum to pull enough fuel and that is why they use the pump to give the engine a quick shot of fuel when it is at it's lowest vacuum and needs it the most.
Now if you do the aftermarket air filters and rejet and all the stuff that MacAddict did you will have an improvement.
Also keep in mind that a 951 will not tolerate any water ingestion at all so keeping the stock intake box and covers is a very good idea if you ever roll your ski or let novices ride it. In my opinion you should never put aftermarket filters/air boxes on a 951 unless it is your exclusive ski, are a very good rider and always flip it back over correctly and never let others ride it. You need to be very experienced like MacAddict.
^ ^ ^ mikidymac Makes a great point in that a bone stock engine with big @ssed airbox doesn't produce enough vacuum... you have to open up the "throat" by aftermarket flame arrestors and re-jet to realize the effect of deleting acc pump. Removing it on a bone stock engine will likely end up with more problems than it was intended to solve...
Thanks as always mikidymac...
No problem Mac, some of us like our skis bone stock LOL. Those that like to mod them like you have a whole new set of issues to play with
I can say on my bone stock 2001 XP 951 with everything clean there is absolutely no hesitation with the stock accelerator pump. The thing rips.
Please get a helmet for that jumping Mac. I have seen some friends get pretty hurt that way.
How about an old 90's Lazer Wet Stream. Made for PWC as the liner doesn't absorb any water. If you can find one this Rad that is....

BigTimeSolutions is you?
Would love something like that with the visor and all, and could easily repair/repaint to watch ski.... just wouldn't want the interior blue/purple...
I appreciate it though....
thank you guys for your input i really need advice
so what would you recomend as a bolt on parts that will not harm but give me a lil more powaa!! you guys mentioned aftermarket flame arrestors ,any brand?
and rejeting should i do it wen i get my cards rebuilt ? i want to know what to tell the mechanic to do wen i bring it to him i want a great response from throttle on zero . i dont really care about top speed
130hp is a lot coming from a 951cc 2cyl engine. One of the fastest 2 stroke skis out there. Personally I'd keep it stock and not have to keep messing with a modded ski.
Is di more powerful engine than the carb version ?So true. All other manufacturers had to go to 1100 & 1200 triples to get that much power.
