I have a 1994 sea doo spx, I have some black spots on the handle bar cover as well as the back handle and the rear pads and I was wondering how to remove the spots. If anyone has had the same problem and found a product that works please let me know. Thanks.

I recommend "Purple Stuff" made by 3m. It is a great cleaner and does a great job on stubborn stains...it's a great degreaser too.

Try some Oxy-clean, hot water and a stiff brush. You might lose some of the color and have to scrub the crap out of it... but that should help (some...)... ;o)

Well thanks for the suggestions, I just got the jetski over the weekend I am trying to get the black spots off it so it looks nicer. If its mold, does anyone have any ideas of what will take it off. Any suggestions would be great.

There is a bleach stick that works good for me. It in the laundry dept in like Walmarts.

I hate to say it... but I don't think anything will work.

Last spring... I restored the boat in my avatar. The grab handles were covered in splotchy black nasty. I scrubbed with everything I could find. I soaked them in scalding hot watter... used all the cleaners above... but in the end... all I have was very clean black and teal handles.

Since they were so clean... I decided to use a vinyl paint on them. (nothing to lose at that point) I used the dupli-color brand paint... and it worked perfect. All season they were used... and they look as good as the day I painted them.

The only down side is that they only have basic colors.

The yellow vinyl handlebar grips on my '97 were loaded with mold/mildew stains. It was in all of the cracks and crevices. I tried degreasers, detergents and every other cleaner I could think of. I scrubbed and scrubbed. I actually thought about replacing them because they were soooo crummy. Then...I put abt. 3 tblspoons of Oxy-clean in a 16 oz. cup with the hottest water I could get out of my faucet. I let them soak overnight. Next morning, I scrubbed them with a stiff bristle brush and a lot of the stains were gone. I ended up doing this three times and the grips look like they are brand new...no more stains.

Hope this helps...:)
