Almost ready to get my ski in the water for the first time. After servicing the pump I noticed that the impeller is pretty dinged up.

How much will this effect performance? Or is it even okay to run it this way for the time being?

Thanks

Little dings aren't crucial. But with dings can easily come with bent fins on the impeller. If this is the case that affect things in a HUGE manner.

You basically get three fins pushing water equally and one that may push, may be neutral, or may even pull water depending in how severe the damage is.

When bent you can lose much if the designed performance.

If those are dents that I'm seeing on the blade at the right center, then it needs to be replaced. If you just want a stock one SBT has rebuilt impellers for $85.00 exchange.

Looks like it was painted.

Please put your ski and yr in your profile info.

I think Doc just posted in another thread that the early skis had Aluminum impellers and the new ones now have Stainless impellers.

Yes, a side view would help.
