Hole in Exhaust Tuned Pipe

2001 Challenger with twin 717s. Last time on the water the left engine started losing power and wouldn't rev past 5000. On the trailer it has trouble starting. Once started it won't idle, only run with throttle part way up. After starting the hose, water starts squirting from the curved exhaust pipe attached to the exhaust manifold onto the engine head.

Hole all the way through! It's in the engine side through one of the raised bumps where the pipe starts curving. Obviously that needs to get fixed. Can someone say that would be the likely cause of the starting problems and low power/revs? I can't think why a hole in the exhaust would cause those symptoms, but perhaps someone can shed light. Otherwise, need to look for other problems.2

well I would suggest repairing the pipe and going from there. Metered water injection aides in exhaust scavenging, so I say depending on the severity of the leak, that very well could lead to or cause the issues you are having, but at this point I`m only guessing and just saying repair the pipe and see how things go...

The header is double walled, and water circulates through it. I had a similar problem, the bilge was filling with water, it was comming from a casting welded plug on the bottom, you really couldn't see it, but you could see the water shooting out. This should not have much affect on the engine performance, but needs to be fixed, when it gets really bad, it will overcome your bildge pump. The welded plug corrodes through, you can pull the header with out pulling the engine, not supper easy, but not that hard, then have someone weld a plate over it. I doubt it corroded through the exaust wall.
