Hit a little sandbar

I was heading to the trailer to leave the beach from the weekend and apparently it was Really low tide. On my way i hit a little sand bar that you couldnt see. I wasnt going very fast. Maybe 15 mph. Afterwards my maint light came on. Is there anything i need to do to ensure everything is good?? For this time or future reference??

You need to put in your profile what boat and or ski you have so we have a clue what you are asking about. I am gonna guess you have sucked up sand and junk and maybe have a cooling issue now.

Go into your profile under User CP and add your boat(s) or ski(s) so in the future you don't need to worry about it. We can just look to the side and see what you are driving.

I second his suggestion. Check your cooling lines and be sure everything is clear and water is moving in and out of all the cooling passages.

Thanks Scoop and RFoster. I can ride the hell out of one but mechanically, i am inept. Been that way for everything. Same when i raced motocross dirt bikes. Where am i looking for this, and what exactly do i need to be seeing or not seeing.

I'm not sure if it will help your light or not, but you need to flush the engine. Hook up the hose, turn on the ski, turn on water, let it run for a couple minutes, turn off water, goose throttle, turn off ski. You should see all the water flushing out the back, if not then you have a clog somewhere.

that same day about 45 mins later i flushed out the whole ski for about 8 minutes. I was doing that anyhow since i was in the Salt Water with it. While it was on and being flushed i didnt hear the beep which usually signals you that there is a problem. Hopefully that is a really good sign.

Maybe it washed it out?

Never run on the hose for more than 5 minutes. The impeller bearings are not being cooled by the surrounding water and you can burn them up.
