How fast are your boats??

What is the difference between the two boats??

& RFoster130, I noticed your boat is a speedster, but it has the two forward facing captain seats. Most of the speedsters I see had a backward facing passenger seat or no passenger seat at all. What's up with that??

I have little experience with the '99 and earlier 2 stroke boats. I am trying to research for my little bro who wants to get into it.

Thanks for the help guys.

Mine does around 53-54. Foster and I have same boat. Just different hull decals. That style was only made 2 years. 98-99. These boats seats swivel completely around if that's what your talking about. The SK speedster model doesn't have the bow seat and are yellow and have smaller engines.

Its shorter than the '98-'99 1800??

As far as the seats, I was not talking about yours swiveling. But thanks for that info, I had no idea your boat did that. Awesome.
I was saying that other speedsters, have the left side seat fixed in position facing backwards. Is that the Pre '98 style??

Is your boat stock?? Or do you have a performance prop?? Or motor work??

This is the boat he wants right?? '98-'99 Speedster.

Thanks for all your help.

yeah what he said. The 98 Speedster came with twin 787 motors making 110 HP each and will do 53-55. It only came in red. Then in 99, you could get the standard speedster in red or yellow. Then they also had the Speedster SK in both colors with twin 717 motors making 85 HP each. Im not sure of the top speed on it.

In 2000 they retained both the speedster and the speedster SK. The speedster was a 240 merc the sk was a 210 merc. Then 2001 to 2004 it was just the speedster with the 240 merc.
The 97's had a different setup on the interior.

All from 98-04 were 16.5 ft. I really think it is the best overall smaller boat. you get the 4 individual captain chairs and it flies.

I def agree with Foster. The best seating arrangement. So if feels uniform. I would def recommend staying with the twin 787 vs the merc( sorry merc guys). But, I have to say the bow seat is perhaps the best feature ever. That's where the girl with the biggest ta-tas gets to sit. A sight to truly behold..

Bow seat, Tig ol' Bittys. Sit back and enjoy the show. lol
I am willing to bet money that's what my brother is after. lol

So, Forget the Merc powered.
'98-'99 has the seating I want.

Neither one of you mentioned any performance mods. So, that 53 - 55mph figure is on Stock Equipment??

How dose your boat stack up against 20' bow riders with Merc 5.0 & 5.7 prop setup?? Top end wise??

Yep, totally stock. I can do circles full speed around 20' prop driven boats while they are doing about 45mph. they hate to see my little boat smoking em. It really is a lot of fun.

Now that I know what boat to look for. The hunt begins. Hopefully, My little bro can get a weekend in before the weather starts to suck.

Speaking of wake boarding, Can my brother get a wake tower for a '98-'99 speedster??
He is not into wake boarding, He just wants it for speakers and towing a tube or the random wake boarder.

Speedsters have a retractable ski pole and a tow hook for tubers. They done have a big wake though.

You can get tower but it not really something you need. Like phil says, they dont really make a big wake, so its kinda pointless. The tow hook works great for tubes and the ski pylon is good for skis. You see the pic of my interior, so a wake tower isnt needed for speakers. I can hear the music 100 yards away.

Hey Phildoo, the bow cover that sits on the SK models, would that fit on our speedsters? I think it kinda looks cool, are they bolted on?

You can make it work, it bolts on, the problem is, you cant find them anywhere. Sometimes you can find the pad on the top for sale, but not the actual cover.

Thanks Foster, I know ... I've been searching. I do use my bow seat fairly often though .. .so prolly for the better.
