Hex Bolt Replacments???

Whats up guys, I have a 1996 GSX and I needed to rebuild carbs and when I was removing all the hex bolts almost half of them were ceased up and I stripped them out (the previous owner didnt spray down the engine with lube I am assuming). They all came off finally after removing the exhaust manifolds etc.......... what a b****. Where can I get replacement bolts fairly quickly other than the dealer?

You need metric stainless steel replacments. I would try any hardware store. That's where I go. Bring samples for length and pitch of threads.

Cool, that was what I was hoping. I guess the hex heads wont matter.

I received the replacement bolts for the pump body and the diaphragms from http://seadoosource.com/carbpkgs.html.

Hex is a HELL of a lot better than the Philips screws for the next time you need to get in there.

But as already stated, you can get the hardware locally at Ace Hardware or even some boating shops with stainless steel fasteners.

Not Home Depot

Little hardware stores like Ace and Tru Value are the place to go. Lowes and Home Depot tend to blister pack them and otherwise are a pain.

Tip: not all Sea Doo bolts are metric.

Tip: Not all thread pitches are uniform. Only way to be sure is, bring the original bolt, try to fit a nut onto it. Dont force it at all, should go on all threads easily.

For example M10 X 1.25 means a 10mm shaft with thread pitch 1.25 mm thread
spacing. M10 X 1.50 is normal.

Ok - I'll try those stores. West Marine is definately out of that list. They had barely any metric stuff.
