I was sliding plastic tubing through dipstick tube in order to remove oil, and then murphy's law kicked in.... the tubing apparently has gotten old and brittle and snapped inside of dipstick tube. What do I have to do to remove dipstick tube from engine? Can I just pull on it or do I have to remove intake to access it? Engine is 215HP SCIC. Thanks in advance!

See if a Philips screw driver fits inside the broken tube...slide it in and gently pull it out. You should have checked it before you stuck it in there.

It snapped at the bend... therefore not easy to pull back out. I'm afraid that trying to get the plastic tubing out will break some more and pieces will drop into oil sump. I think the best bet is to pull dipstick tube out. Just not sure how it comes out... it seems like it might be held in place by the intake manifold, just not sure. Yes, I should've checked the tubing before inserting... hindsight is 20/20.

Remove the intake manifold to get at it. It's very easy. Follow the shop manual.
