I have a 2005 Seadoo GTI that I had the oil injector blocked off of last winter and last weekend was the first time to have it on the water since doing so. It ran great for the first half of the tank of gas/oil mixed. I used 40 to 1 ratio or 16 oz. for 5 gallons of gas. When it died, it sounded like the plugs were fowled so towed back to shore, put it on the trailer, plugs were dry. A buddy of mine at the lake who is good with all kinds of engines took it apart to the carburetor and cleaned the carb (it did had gunk in it from something stupid that I did) and put it back together and then it was was fowling the plugs, but the plugs smelled funny, not like gas or oil ~ buddy seems to think it's from the stabil that was put in it to winterize because plugs smelled like carbon. Another thing is if my buddy put a small amount of straight gas in the carb it would start and run for a few seconds (or until the gas was gone). It has compression. The only thing my buddy can figure is that the gas oil mix is wrong or because I used Seadoo injection oil rather than a two stroke oil. He's wondering if the injector oil mixes w/gas (he said some oils do not mix but I would think it does since that is what it does from the injector) or if ratio is wrong. I am going to drain tank of gas/oil mix tonite and unblock the injector pump and try the way it is set up. Got any other ideas? I hate being broke down this time of year! : (

If you are using SeaDoo XPS oil... it will mix just fine with regular pump fuel.

Sounds like you just need to clean the carbs again, and figure out where the junk is coming from.

Actually my buddy did take the carb apart a second time. He thinks the gunk in the carbs came from the cover that goes over the grease zirt that I didn't get tightened down one time and part of the plastic cover got ate away. There was stuff in the metal breather filter too. What ratio oil/gas mix is best?

When you blocked off your oil pump....did you keep your oil lines to the rotary gear?....just wondering You need to keep that rotary gear in an oil bath even if you are premixing.

Yep... what he said.

Seadoo's pre mix spec is 40:1. (3.2oz oil/gal)
