Help! Carb coming loose

I posted this in the boat section, but didn't get a response, guess the boaters don't work on their carbs.
Last time I was out my right engine wouldn't start easily. Back home I discovered the carb was loose. Last I worked on it I replaced it using the silicone grease recommended. Don't know what I torqued the screws, but it would seem that greased screws would come loose in a high vibration application like carb mounting.

Should I use loctite instead? Why the recommendation in the manual for grease? What do folks (who work on their skis) do? How much to torque the screws?

Check the threads and make sure they are not worn out. If they are then drill out, tap and install thread inserts. (helicoil)
If the threads are still good then my suggestion is to use some 247 loctite (blue) on the threads.
When you tighten the carbs down don't tighten one side down all the way then the other. "Walk" the screws down using an alternating sequence until the screws are tight and the carbs are all the way down and sealing

Install new gaskets, and it will help keep them tight. Also... they recommend grease because the stainless screws will start an "Electrolysis" reaction without an anti-seize compound.

So, stay with grease but a fresh gasket will keep it on? Or loctite?

New gasket is already ordered, the old was getting cruddy.

Thanks for the reply! I knew you skiers would help a stranded boater.
