OK so my problem is the bogging down and surging. I have 2 99 GTX and they are both doing the same thing. My husband has tried and tried while I have read and read. But just about the time that we think that we have them fixed and get them back to the lake 1 of them messes up so we load them and back to the house fix it get back to the lake and there goes the other one. We were both so fed up last night that we decided to call a shop and just get them fixed ha ha the joke was on us the 1st appt that we could get was July 30th. We just bought these at the end of the yr last yr and we really want to go play on them some more.
So to make a long story short we took them out about 5 times last Aug. as far as we knew they ran great (newbie)! Then the last time that we were out with them our friends had the same gas cans as us and they got mixed up and we got ETHONAL fuel in them. Later that day 1 of them started surging. So we got them home hubby pulled out the fuel filter up front it was full of goop and gunk so he cleaned that out and drained the remaining 1/2 tank of fuel from both so we thought that we should be good to go come this summer. Charged and put the batteries back in along with new plugs and take them to the lake for our first outing of the summer (30 miles to the closest lake) they didn't start so came home charged and put new batteries in they start right up so off we go back to the lake. Unload hop on mine ran a little rough but I got it going the one my daughter was on kept dying when she gave it gas so we came back home bought fuel booster more new plugs and a shop guide (didnt know about this) went back to the lake now the other one ran but mine wouldn't go. RPMs in water has been as low as 800 (when bad) and as high as 1400 idling (when running good).
So from reading this I see that we need to change the grey fuel line, clean the carbs (fingers crossed we don't have to rebuild them) and do something to something called the RAVE or something. My question is after looking on this site for SEVERAL hours straight I am going crossed eyed. Is there a step by step instrucion for each one of these tasks that needs to be preformed. Or Is the info in the book if so maybe where? My hubby can work on autos and semis but he has NEVER seen anything like this watercraft. ? I'm gonna have to sweet talk him so I can ride before Aug. so I want to have my eggs in a row before I approach him with all this.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU in advance for helping me out!!!
