Hard start when warmed up

I have a 93 sea doo with I believe a 587 motor. I have rebuilt the carb. When the ski is cold, it cranks up fine. If I turn it off and try to crank again, acts like it's flooded and takes a while to start. When it does start, alot of white smoke comes out and runs rough for a while. sometimes it takes so long to start it, battery will die. It doesn't appear that it's getting to much fuel. Can the oil injection pump have something to do with the hard start? Does the injection pump still some oil when the ski is off until the pressure is relieved? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. :)

Oh, when I do have it running, it runs great. I have played with it for about 6 hours this weekend. Fast and fun.

Snipe please help- will turning in the high idle fix my hard start problem?

I bought t a 1989 Sp three years ago. The previous owner told me that it would run all day but if it shut off it would be tough to restart. This means that you would need to hold the start button down and keep wide open throttle until it will slowly begin to produce combustion- he was right! He thought it wouldn't restart hot because the compression was low 90 in one and 110 in the other or it could need carb work.

What I have done.

I put a brand new mikuni 38bn with built in fuel pump on it (disabled the old fuel pump). That didn't make it start any better but it did make it run better.

I added a primer knob. That didn't make a difference.

I then decided to do my first top end rebuild. I know have 150 in each jug- but the ski still doesn't like to start when hot.

It does look like the plugs are slightly wet when I pull them out after it doesn't start- Is that because my high idle is rich?
I don't want to burn up my motor by leaning it out?

What should I do?
