On my previous thread we discussed and diagnosed a misfire on cylinder#2 which ended up being a bad fuel injector. Now the engine runs really well, except sometimes when I'm goosing the throttle on the trailer (have not had the ski in the water yet since the rebuild) it will hesitate for a second and pop almost like a backfire and then picks up engine speed with no problem. It only does this from an idle if I really give it some throttle. Any ideas? A buddy said it might be bad gas? I wasn't aware these things needed premium fuel and I already have about 3 gallons of regular unleaded gas in the tank with some fuel system cleaner added. Thanks in advance!

You can't judge how well it runs on the trailer by goosing it. They can be cold blooded and will need to warm up in the water and under load. Then see how it runs. You don't have to run premium. It doesn't make that big of a difference and won't cause it to run poorly. Fresh gas and clean fuel filters are more important. If your injectors were dirty, you will need new fuel filters which are on your pump.
Do you have to pull the engine to get the fuel pump out? I read in the manual that the engine has to be removed to pull the gas tank. My question would be is there enough clearance in the hull to pull the pump with out removing the tank?
I was about to say the same as ski-d00 and then read his post. After riding my own and several other very similar skis since 2003, I wouldn't make any more assumptions until you get to run it under real world conditions.

Hey guys! Had the ski out for the very first time Sunday April 10th 2022. Ran like an absolute dream. Filled her up with premium 93 and that seemed to get rid of the hesitation I was experiencing on the trailer. Im sure with it not being under load and having poor quality gas was a contributing factor. All in all I am very impressed! Zero cavitation on the wholeshot and my speedometer registered 62mph. Next weekend I will use a better GPS speed tracker for more accurate results! Just wanted to thank all of you who contributed your knowledge on the 2 or 3 threads I started for this ski! Ohhh boyyyy were you guys right about the filter on the fuel pump...I pulled it today and it was BLACK. Sediment was literally dripping from every nook inside the pump housing. I do have a question though I ordered a fuel filter and the one that came is way too big even though I looked on c&csports.com and got the correct part number from there and the filter i ordered matched that part number. Also when I look online I see that the filters come in sets of 2. One filter is smaller than the other and is probably the one that I need. My question would be is there more than one filter? I've looked everywhere and all I can find is the one that goes in the bottom of the fuel pump.
Found the eluding fuel filter sitting in the bottom of the fuel tank. Turns out there are actually 2 filters even though parts diagrams only show the one on the outside of the pump housing. There is another filter attached directly to the bottom of the fuel pump itself right on the other side of the base plate for the housing assembly. Good job seadoo for letting people know that filter was there

You should probably clean your injectors again because even though it ran like a dream, I'm sure there's plenty of sediment in the injectors from your test ride.
Seadoo buys the complete assy from Bosch and they want you to replace the entire fuel pump and not disassemble to replace the second filter. You can buy the exact Bosch filters at any auto parts store for way less than seadoo sells them.
