I have 2 GTI 130 I purchased them memorial day weekend 2 years ago. They ran great first season then when it was time to fire them up last year batteries were dead on both. I went back to the dealership where I purchased them and they said I should put them on a trickle charger ALL the time. He even went to as far as saying when we go in for lunch they need to be put on the trickle charger. So we did that. This year they fired up then the next weekend we unplugged one on the dock to use the outlet for a compressor. It didnt get plugged back in and the next morning battery dead. So I have replaced 3 batteries on 2 skis that have about 15 hours each. Any suggestions on why or how I can prevent this from happening. I have called dealerships and they arent any help and seadoo said you have to call the dealership for tech support. One guy suggested switching to a AGM battery. Please help. Thanks!

If your machines are new, your batteries should last about 5 years. I've had the same battery in my GTR since 2012. I only use a charger at the beginning of the season to charge it up, but even after the winter storage they still have life in them. It sounds like you have a short, but it would be too much of a coincidence to happen in both of your machines. Sounds like the battery used in your machine is crap. I'd get your batteries tested, and if they're no good replace them with good a good brand of batteries. If they're good, you've got an electrical issue to deal with.

Many only get 2 years out of a battery, especially once they replace the original battery. I have gotten 4 years on average and I use a Battery Tender, NOT a charger. If you use a charger and it is not a smart charger, you will basically cook the battery over time. Even with using a Tender, I use it a couple of times during the season if the skis sat for a couple of months for some reason and about 2 months before the season I hook them up..

They are Yuasa batteries. That is the original brand that came with them and is what the BRP recommends you use according to the dealership.

It's very simple Yuasa batteries and a battery TENDER in the off season. I use the tender on my snowmobile, UTV and Seadoo batteries when in the off season and get minimum five years per battery. You just can't leave batteries sit idle in the off season no matter what anyone says. You alternate them on a tender once a month and will last a very long time

I use the battery tender jrs on mine. You may also want to check the water levels on yours. Both of mine needed distilled water, I filled to correct level and now the batteries charge faster. I use my skis almost every weekend since March, put each of them on the tender when I get home from riding and 3 days later they are back to full charge.

I put the tender on mine and after 45 minutes, it's fully charged. And I ride once a week

Alright sounds like I need a battery tender. Can anyone send me a link or a brand name on where I can purchase a good battery tender.

I have an 2005 RXT and I only ever user a maintainer during the off season... Its what I've done for all the batteries I've ever owned and I have never had any issues... I just find it crazy weird that a battery would die in less then a week... I personally think you have bigger issues.
