I've got a 97 speedster and the back rests need repair. Specifically, the gray ones that are beside the yellow backs. The foam is good but the cover is ripping from the sun. I would like to remove them and recover them but I can't find the bolts. How do I remove them?

I need help because right now I have duct tape on them and that is so not cool.

I'll sell you the backrest out of my speedster for $3000, and even throw in the rest of the boat for free!

How can you pass up a deal like that?

Cypher,
Thanks for the offer (not) but I can easily pass it up. My seadoo keeps me busy. I was just looking for a way to remove my own backrests.

I have a 96?

I hope this helps
With the engine compartment open, You'll need to remove the large Grey box.
There are two nuts holding the bracket for that box.
Behind the box are two bolts or screws for the starboard side of the seat back.
On the port side I believe they're exposed. Now for the armrests. I have long
Arms so I lay across the top of the seatbacks and reach as far as I can in the
corner to reach the bolt that goes up in to the armrest. (10 mm).
Same thing for the other armrest. Total of six bolts.
Just a suggestion wear long sleeves, the fiberglass in there gives Me the itch!
Good luck!
