Fuel line replacement? Zip tie?

We recently bought two 1996 GTX's that have been thru at least two previous owners; both have the gray fuel lines, I've done some reading but have a few questions.

1. Correct that I need 20-22 feet of 1/4" line (1/4 only) for a 1996 787 motor?
2. Carbs must be removed to check the internal filters?
3. Best to remove exhaust manifold or can I access well enough by leaving on?
4. Any good links showing carb removal covering bolts & linkage?
5. Thinking of using zip ties for fuel line; understand to use Thomas & Betts with the S/S insert - anyone have a model # or size that's best to use? Best place to buy?

Thanks,
Steve

Zip ties as clamps? No. Go to Home Depot and get 3 of the 10 pack bags of 1/4" stainless hose clamps, in the plumbing dept.

1,, yes
2,, yes
3,, it helps but you can do without removing... do them one at a time.. its better that way
4,, youtube or owners manual ? google it "free seadoo manual" or look on youtube... (amazing stuff there)
5,, i use the stainless insert zippies, have used them on many ski's,, clamps are better but....
the best deal i found on the zippies (besides local electrical supply store maybe) was fleabay, mcmaster carr, or fastenal (so maybe google for a electrical supply or fastenal in your town) and call the electric people first to make sure they have them... in a pinch i've used the non stainless insert ones but only a pinch... ps.. AC supply companies generally have the good ones too.. and Napa...

note: one of the white nylon's I got from mcmaster had a tendency to stretch,, ie: tighten,,, wait 30 minutes, then tighten one more time before snipping off the excess... i stopped using them after that... pissed me off..

do NOT use harborfreight or dollar store zipties... (ask me why i know this is a bad idea lol)

I've used cable ties for years, if you use them get good one's. I get mine at Graybar Electric, Pandiut brand, black. I would suggest however to use stainless hose clamps at the carbs., and pulse line, so you can reuse them when you remove the carbs.
