Fuel Delivery Problems...

Just bought my skis a few months ago, and have never been a part of a forum....This site has been awesome so far! I had a problem with a safety switch on one of the skis and got that figured out and fixed easily with your guys help. However, the same one is in major need of some tlc.

It was running fine on the lake, then all of a sudden started bogging out and slowing down. (This ski was always a bit slower than the other) Pulled it out of the water and ran fine. From what I've read so far, I could possibly have a fuel delivery problem. Checked the rave valves and they were very dirty. Getting them cleaned up tonight but am a little weary of the carb rebuild. Have a mechanic that i have known and trusted for ten+ yrs, but has little exp with jet skis. Should I have him take a go at it, or should I take it to the shop??

If your buddy has experience with pressure carbs... it's not too hard. BUT... personally... do it your self, and ask questions here. (you will need to change the fuel lines too)

Ya, they are still the grey ones. Any suggestions on brand/manufacturer?

Any quality automotive fuel hose, I think I used gates, from CarQuest.

Also here's a link on the subject, the only thing I did different is I use 1/4" cable ties instead of clamps, they're cheaper, easier, and I think clamp better. If you use cable ties, use quality ties I got mine from Greybar Electric, Panduit brand.
