WTF! I put the boat into storage a month ago and it had 54hrs. Took it out yesterday and it said 57hrs. What is going on? is there something still counting or what?

Did you leave your battery connected? You should disconnect this when storing anyway, and that should keep any hours from being added.

I know for my wave runner, if I have the lanyard attached, it will be counting hours. After a few minutes, the power shuts off and it stops, but, the engine does not have to be running for it to be counting the hours.

I know on my boat hours have been added by the battery switch being left on. Make sure to leave the battery disconnected like posted.

ok, but what about the blige pump? if i dont leave the battery connected then I could get a bilge full of water.

I know the bilge pump electrical is designed to work with the battery switch off. If the boat is in the water, I see your point that the battery should stay in. But it is OK to leave the battery switch in the off position. Maybe that will work for you.

Even if it is on with my 2009 180SE, it will not count hours. I forgot and left mine on for over a week once and it didn't add any hours. I was worried that some electronics may drain the battery, but it fired right up.

If yours is a different year and model, it may act different.

Of course mine is a 98 but the pump was not coming on with the switch off so I rewired it moving it to the side of the switch that is always hot. Solved the problem and now it doesn't add hours with the switch left on.
