99 GS. I took the rear electrical box apart and cleaned it up due to corrosion. Rebuilt the drive/propulsion systems, Got everything back together and tried to hook up the battery, I held the cable on the terminal for a few seconds while i fished for the bolt, it made sparks... not good.
I pulled the box apart and found that I hooked a ground to the battery side of the starter solenoid....
The box was full of smoke and the wires that went up to the front of the ski to a connector on the engine were hot.
The wire I hooked to power was a black wire that came in from the connector on top of the electrical box. I rerouted everything, correctly, hooked the battery up, no sparks. Put the key on, it beeped, but nothing happened when I hit the button.
I fried something good. Where do i start to trouble shoot this problem?
