You can get the HawkEye Depth Sounder D10D for like $100.00 on line and if you spend $100.00 per month in gas you can get $25.00 back each month for 4 months. I drive a truck and suv back and forth to work (50 miles) each day and theres the $60.00 in gas every other weekend at the lake in the boat. No brainer here. I already replaced my non working fuel gauge in the boat with one and will test the transducer this weekend for the prime spot in the hull. Will try the spot others are using first, in hull, carb side, about even with the spot where the drive shaft comes thorugh the boot in the hull.

BTW used the purple and black wire from the fuel gauge harnes. This allows for the guage to come on and off with the boat. Used marine grade heat shrink connectors. Job looks great so far.

Fuel power lines?....

I don't know but you might pop the fuse on the fuel sending unit if you connect the sounder to it. Most times, the electrical systems in these boats are for what they power, using the proper amp fuse for it. But, there is always a bit of leeway. If I remember right, I used the accessory wire up front near the fuse box (since I had to run the wire for the gage anyway). This way, it turns on and off like you mention and then, has enough power to run the transducer without interfering with any other component of the electrical system.

did not think of that one. th wires are bigger than the ones for the hawkeye so if i blows a fuse tomorrow (Well it is 2:16 AM in Az) I mena later today when I test it I will just go to the size of the one inlinr it came with.

Does it draw more juice with the Transducer pluged in?

Thanks !
