Hello everyone, does anyone know where I can get the four pin wire harness p/n 295 000 131 to trouble shoot the magneto and ignition coil assembly. I called several dealers and they're charging way too much, I also need several other special tools primarily for overhauling the jet pump and if you guys know where I can get other special tools please let me know. Perhaps someone may now how to make the harness. Thanks,

I just finished rebuilding the pumps, and only needed the drive to get the prop off. I bought it on Ebay for $10 if I recall.
To press out the bearings, I just used a piece of stock and a press. Nothing fancy.

If you want, I can cut the piece you need off a wiring harness for $35 shipped.

Pincusa, thanks for the input, how did you install the bearings and the seal, the manual says to use the seal and bearing tool for correct depth otherwise you have to measure for correct depth. Something to do with the bearings and seal being inserted a certain depth in the housing for lubrication purposes.

Hi, Chester your offer sounds good but is the connector for a 98 sportster 1800 or interchangeable, if so I can give you $20 for one or $35 for both since its a twin engine as you know their color coded and the troubleshooting procedures in the manual asks you to check red/black and black to check for voltage as an example. Red/black happens to be for the right engine. Thanks,

You only need one harness. Just test one engine at a time. I have a complete wiring harness from an HX that I can cut off the section you need.

Are they the same color code as mine, what other parts do you have that would interchange with a 98 sportster 1800

Yes, as you said. You can use the $200 tool, or just do it the old fashion way and measure for free. So I took the free route. The specs are in the manual

When you put the seal in, be sure to use some 518 loctite to keep the water out.

Ok, will do the same. For pressing in the bearings, did you use the same piece of stock as you did for pressing out the bearings?

I'll post a picture of it. I'll also label the wires to coincide with the BRP tool. That way, you can refer to the manual the same as if you were using the harness from BRP.

Let me know if you have an mpem that will interchange with a 98 sportster 1800.

Sorry, no MPEM for your model.

Do you need the ability to run the engine with the test harness installed?

Sure it would be helpful. I disabled the rev limiter wire red/black, I got spark but it was barely noticeable any idea why its doing that. Then I check for spark with everything connected normally and spark was barely noticeable also.
