I noticed after I installed my pump assembly and got around to cleaning the bench that I didn't install the little boot at the front of the impeller, should I pull off the pump again and install it? Not to sure if it is a critical part
YES, you need to install the impeller boot, without the boot the grease will wash out and you will wear out the drive shaft splines and/or the impeller splines. Also be sure you use waterproof grease.
