flushed my 1997 gtx 800. can i leave the male quick connector on the water outlet or remove it tks rp

Where do you have the fitting hooked to... and does the fitting have a valve in it?

If it's on the back, and there is no valve (so water can flow)... then yes... you can leave it.

Sorry to jack the thread but I have a 1997 Gsx 800...


I have a hose ( IN ) connnect with a Valve on it to Stop/Start the flow of water.


When I flush I hook the Hose up to the IN
:: turn Engin On //
::Valve open Water On //
::Valve Closed water off //
::Engine off //

Now when IM out riding I keep the Valve closed right so no water gets in?

okay so I had this ski in storage why I moved and now getting back to putting it together..

I have a 97 GSX, It has this Flushing Hookup, I do not need to pinch off any hoses. But When I purchased this ski the owner befor me had this on the back.

Now my question is. Should this stay open when riding? And maybe he only put it on there to control the water flow when flushing? My reasoning is because want to put a quick connect on it.??

it must remain OPEN while riding. this is actually the water EXIT.

When you run on the hose through here it runs the cooling system backwards.

Putting an always open quick connect here should be fine.

if you flush a lot... I don't because I run on only freshwater. so I didn't bother putting them on mine.

I do however have quick connects on EVERYTHING else. All hoses for the house (3), all hoses (2) mower, pressure washer, and even the freaking sprinkler. I HATE normal hose connectors... they take forever, never line up and rust to all hell.

when these wear out and get nasty, you get NEW ones... lifetime warranty!
