Yeah I call that area out by the road my "bait pile". It reminds my of a pile of beets my Grandpa used to have to lure the deer in. It does not work though. People do not get that I'm discounting the trailer for the hassle of dealing with the boat. I will have to pay $80-$100 for someone to come get the boat then I can sell the trailer.

I'll be out of town going to Gainesville this weekend. This time I'm finally bringing a trailer to retrieve the HX hull Nammer got me. I have a dude my Dad found with a "yard full of Jetskis" that I'm gonna check out while down there. I'm also gonna get their 96 Sportster running again which is another FL Classifieds victory. Nammer found it in Bell for $350 a while back.

Matt FWIW, I got $300 for the same hull/trailer combo just a couple of weeks ago, guy really wanted the trailer, it was an interesting discussion because he asked me how much w/o the boat, and I said $350 :) didn't make sense to him until I explained that its a pain in the azz to run the hull to the dump.

made a little deviation on my way to work this morning and picked up this GTX, $300 on trailer with a decent oem cover too.

dead battery so not sure on electronics or compression, apparantly its been sitting for 7 months or so. But at that price I really didn't care except to know that everything was there. Added bonus... Free Ants !!!

its funny when you tell them that YOU don't want to drop it off at the landfill, but then go on and tell them just how easy it is to take it there lol. Its actually not hard, I was there yesterday, it took just over an hour round trip to go there drop it off, $5 for an empty GSX. It took longer to get rid of the smell than it did to actually make the trip. I'll be taking the GTX there in about a week :)

FYI I just walked away from the 2000 XP at apollo beach... even at $400
Hull is grey with impact fractures in the nose.
Very salty/rusty..
Broke rear starboard engine mount.
Engine is locked up solid most likely from towing and/or water intrusion into the hull from a bad steering cable seal...
Last time it ran hull filed with water until it died, towed in without clamping water line.
Vts does work.
New start relay.
Two beeps from key insertion.
Nice guy he just didn't seem to be very knowledgeable.

I know it sounds crazy but I probably would have bought that even with those issues.
engine core is worth $200 if cases aren't full of holes. although I have had some trouble in the past getting those engines out when the bolts are all crusty...

vts 150.

as a rebuild,, hell no.. as a part's machine.. not bad...
 
3 nice ones nam.... I like all of them.... but i'm out of the buying business for the next 30 days, neighbors are in town so my storage capability is at a minimum and I have to dump a hull/trailer asap, my back yard is looking less like florida and more like alabama right now.
 
Yeah spim I agree. I probably would have grabbed it for a parts if it had been local, but I didn't want to drag it 450+ miles home on an unknown trailer.

Not sure the mpem was ok, while it gave two beeps on key insertion pushing the new start button did not appear to drive the the new starter relay? Also noteworthy, there was what looked like speaker wire spliced into the harness...

The owner indicated he would update the CL post and lower his asking price.
I submitted my mini review to give any local forum members a heads up.

any funny wires into the mpem would have scared me as well.

although (knock on wood) I have yet to come across a single bad MPEM with all the crap ski's I've purchased, maybe i've just been dam lucky, I dunno. But it always made me wonder why they sell so dam fast when I've never had one go bad on my doo's, and i've never run across a bad one. Yet the one I pulled off the crusty 98 GSXL was looked over and reprogrammed with two keys by tonka, I listed it on fleabay friday and sold it this morning, full retail. (although I never rest easy until a full 60 days have passed since purchase date)

I bought a big box of assorted yami electrical box's in January for like $90, took them all apart and sold the individual parts separately, untested, and Zero complaints, maybe 20 separate sales.
