I'll be there all day with a wrench in my hand(hopefully). I'm helping out a nice military guy who bought a 96GTX when his friend bought my 97XP. It's been a turd so I gave him a price on going through it and bringing everything up to speed.
Then this weekend I hope to finally finish my 95 Speedster project and get the last parts boat and trailer up on CL for $100-$150. Yeah it's that picked, rough, rusted(salted) and problem riddled.

It seems to be a good base to start a resto from. It's got all the right parts intact. The engine is toast, the rust stains from the carb throats and rust stain on the bilge below are a good indicator that it got wet inside, just a hunch. My gut feeling is the pump ain't the problem. I'd restore it though. Hopefully that foam where the seat split isn't too badly cracked. Sure would look nice all resto'd up next to that RXX 1of500

1of500 did you get it?? Was still posted last night when I was looking.

Not yet this guy doesn't seem very motivated he's very slow to respond to email. I wanted to go pick it up yesterday. Didn't hear from him till four o'clock saying he MIGHT be available around 5. I'm 2 hours away I'm on the other side of macon hes in cumming. Told him I would be able to come sunday he never responded back.

If he doesn't reply, try this one. It's Marietta.

I want it but I have no room. Three skis and a challenger 1800.

He finally replied with a phone number supposed to pick it up in the morning. I really want the 95' xp 800 since it was a limited production ski like the RXX. I will have to twist Matts arm for some of his rare parts to go with this rare ski.

Good luck!

It's still up for debate how many were produced. There were only 500 of the X model but many thousands of the 95 xp 800. So it's rare... but not terribly rare.

This is gonna sting a little and then turn quickly to a sick/yurn-like feeling. I may have scored my best Seadoo deal ever with this 98 Sportster 1800 find. The hull is about perfect, the seats have been redone where needed but he left the Original backing on a couple on purpose.

The trailer is really not that rusty, the steering is not locked, gauges look new. It has a Poppy cover already!

So what's the catch? Well he hired a shop to put two new SBT 717's and they took off the original air box's and replaced them with new ProK free flow flame arrestors and now it bogs a little after the first start up. He bought a new boat.

A year later he wants to trade it to a guy for a motorcycle. He is tired of paying storage every month on it. He is so honest he takes it to the idiot shop to have it checked out first and they tell him it needs two new engines because the crank seals are bad.

So when my lucky azz gets there with a fifteen hundred dollar bill(I know, right?) this guy takes the Poppy cover off and climbs in to fire the engines up! I'm like "aren't they locked up from the oil?" and he's like "NO IT JUST SMOKES A LITTLE TOO MUCH WHEN THEY FIRST CRANK UP!!!!

:facepalm::rofl::seeya::thumbsup:

Nice job matt. You have got to have set a record for boat purchases in a 12 month span. but it looks like you may have saved the best for last

Finally picked up the Xp 800 for 350

That's a great pick up!! Always ready with AM parts and free advice. I got the #'s from a old Bill O'neil post that there were around 1500 non "X" XP800's. I would love to know the actual BRP mid 90's production #'s.

The word back then was "one per dealer" but it definitely did not work out that way. These were the first DESS skis and many dealer's did not have their programmer yet. Once it's programmed it always needs to be programmed to a key but a come were never programmed and work with any DESS key.

awesome !!!

anybody know what the hell these even are ?

seadoo sides ?

You were right on the money sir! Pulled pump off this afternoon new wear ring, impeller almost perfect, no signs of water or rust inside of the pump. Engine locked up has just a little bit of play after putting a whole can of WD-40 into the cylinders I will tear the rest down one day this week. Foam under seat is good the crack is recent from someone trying to get the seat to latch its out of adjustment.

That's great! I didn't like the rust on the filter adapters though. If you pull the carbs and rotary cover and valve you can get a good look in at the crank. If it's got chit growing on it you can assume the bearings do too.

Start a thread and get some pics up!
