I'm considering this. http://okaloosa.craigslist.org/boa/4417148569.html It's my favorite look of all the Seadoo boats and I like the 720's. I can fix it but what will it realistically be worth when I do?
The guy said the seat are not torn up and all the cables move freely. A little fade is supposed to be the only other problem besides the freeze crack.

I'm leaning that its a very good deal, but a large investment, I always got frustrated and impatient when I had 3-4K tied up into a project, wore on my brain. The $400 projects never made me uncomfortable because the downside was minimal. I'd still go for it if I were you.
You don't need me to tell you that the MPEM is a critical piece, along with the shifters and that the nickle and dime stuff can eat you alive. So proceed with caution.
However, with a nice cleanup, and maybe a rattle can job on the engines & pipes, and your looking at a 75% profit easily, so its like turning 1 ski with the profit of 4 or 5. From experienced I've learned that half the battle is hull cleanup, there's a lot of square footage but the hull and the engine bay really needs to be a 9 out of 10 to sell fast and for fair value. (soft scrub, then compound, then wax & a couple buffs will improve any fading/chalkiness, the white fiberglass will clean up nicely but it will be time consuming so plan on a couple weekends with a scrub brush, hose, buffer getting it to shine, but it will surprise you with the results. It took me 2 weekends of donkying around in the garage to get it to look like it had been stored in a garage it's whole life. the hatch clasps and cupholders are cheap to replace, seat's are under $400 shipped if I remember right so even if they need love its not so bad. (turf is expensive, cables are crazy, everything else is just like working on an old xp but more room to move in the engine bay.)

2004 Sea Doo Sportster project boat for sale including trailer, bimini, boat cover and new seats.

I think thats the same SC GTX a friend of mine has that i've rode the river with, I took a short ride on it, like 10 minutes, if its the SC model its actually quite peppy, has nice acceleration and more than acceptable top end, handles flat water to medium chop well, I never had the opportunity to take it into the gulf or in washbowl conditions but it handled the lesser conditions extremely well. I was actually impressed with the combination of comfort/speed that it offered, was expecting more of a dog, like the GTX 155's i've been on that were extremely quiet and comfortable but had disappointing acceleration/top speed.

yea i saw the engine is 1800 from sbt, plus labor, i'd prob be about 3500- 4K in which is pretty much what they are going fornot the right deal for me

Its around the corner from me and I already have cherry picker.
A couple connections and fluid and she's already!
Less than 500 its a deal if engine is drop in ready for under 2000.
I'm sure I've seen engines for less but not rebuilt.

ya, 2K will get you a spectacular aluminum trailer, at least that's what i've been told, i've never actually shopped for a new one.

Nice, but not 2K nice. I'd rather a Triton if I was dropping that much coin. I could get a new 2014 Triton for $1500
