At least from my understanding from conversations with others looking for crated ski's as well, they would still be under warranty, at least for one year, (somebody else told me 3 years too) and yes, generally they've never had gas in them, just sat there.
the problem is that at THAT price, you could buy a really nice lightly used ski locally, its just a question of what your looking for, since I've never actually ridden that model, its very difficult for me to say that it makes sense. BIL is on vacation so at least he's not pressuring me (today at least) to give him an envelope full of cash so he can get in the car and start driving.
We have looked into the parts situation (or lack of one) but a couple of people that we've talked to seem to indicate that its not as difficult as it looks, but I always hesitate to be confident that something can be found, quickly and reasonably for a repair in the event that something breaks. Certainly if its an RXT, I can go into a purchase confident that locating parts won't be an issue, at all.

Sad Day! New buyer came today for my XP
Got say I almost said no sale after riding it.
What a fun ski to ride. It has everything you want.
Here it is waiting for new owner.
Figured I'd warm it up and do some last WOT runs and 360's.
Then I was like that's enough and back on trailer.
Water test took less than 2mins

Heres what I started with.
I like the black seat better.
Gave new owner the whole run down and stressed the whole API-TC oil.
Hopefully we'll see him around the boards.......

He was watching me before and had fallen off.

ya, those alum trailers are in demand.
my BIL had one that he sold for $650 (mint) in 24 hours. I was shocked, I figured $500 was tops.
I look for them locally but they don't come up often.
