is the range that much different on ur yami?
ya, i wish the F12 would do the trick, but it won't, if a 12 would work i'd probably just get another R12, I need the 15 for offshore, although i've never actually ridden one, i've been told by owners that its the offshore ski that all others wish they could be like, I believe the yami fx series runs a close second in economy and handling and the kawi ultra's are right up there as well. Given how hard the 15's are to find, I might have to settle with a plan B option. I've pretty much eliminated the Kawi's due to fuel economy, but the real research hasn't been done.
re: range on my yami... well, for lack of a better term.. it SUX... but how good can fuel economy be on a 1300cc 2 stroke engine ? (answer... it will never be good ) lol I plan most of my rides around a 60ish mile limit, but if I dont' do any WOT runs I can get 70 miles or maybe a tad more, never really pushed it to the limit of the range yet, but i'd rather have wiggle room.
with a F15, I believe I can push 100+ miles on a full tank in rough water, maybe closer to 120ish in calmer conditions.
On my R12 I can plan a 100 mile ride w/o even sweating it, and although I never tracked it on gps, I think when we did the Suwanee last month it did 120 miles with two riders, and I put 13.5 gallons in, so it had 2.5 gallons left. (15 mile cushion)
in order to push 120 miles on my yami, I would have to pack 12 gallons of gas on the back, yuk, if i'm going to pack gas, i'd rather pack it on a ski that would push my range to 150-180 and really be able to make some long runs.
