what kinda suv did you guys end up with? toyota 4 runner i hope :) custom stuff is cool, but you'll save SOOOO much trouble buying a premade $25 box, they are dirt cheap

no 4 runner, although I looked at a couple, but they're just still a tad too pricey, we ended up with a Santa Fe of all things.

ya ya, $25 boxes are cheap & easy, but i've had several good systems in my cars in the past, and two great systems, and none of the great ones I've ever owned came with an off the shelf box. So we decided to do it right.

anyways, back on track..

here's my local flipper that's been scooping up everything in sight. he's the reason why if a listing has been on locally for more than 48 hours I can be confident that they've already turned down not one, not two, but 3 lowball offers from him and his co-workers. (actually he's a really nice guy tho... but a businessman, i've bought and sold a couple of ski's through and to him)

Back off track,

Spim you forgot mention you can build sub boxes! my diamond audio Mac daddy 10.5 has been in the wrong box (and 300 watts underpowered) since the day I installed it (pre-fab box, no volume/air space knowledge to build my own)

oh hells no, I can't build them, I"m reliant on help. My job is to hold the beer and write the checks. the real science behind it is invisible wizardry to me. But if given the choice, a custom box is worth the hassle.

In reality tho, the gap between a good system and a really good one is pretty small, and very subjective.

ya, i hear ya, if I'm calf deep in the water, I usually can't see my feet :)

Whats the best beach up there in the Tampa St Pete area, we're heading up there Thursday to spend a day with the kid, and maybe a night if we can find a reasonable hotel this time of year, probably not bringing the ski's, but it did get discussed :)

not real sure how to compare beaches, i've never really gotten into the water, i have seen st pete beach, madiera beach, fort desoto, dunedin causeway, the clearwater beach area, but not the beach itself, imo, they're all decent, but not amazing. if you wanted a night away from home and not in a hotel you're more than welcome to stay with me :) we have an extra bedroom, only downside is i'm on spring break, so you're gonna have to hang out with me. we can put up CL on the big screen and search for deals all night long, not sure how ur wife will like that though, haha

i'm in the gandy and 4th area, zip 33702 if that matters
 
lol, ya, the wife would love all night CL sessions haha, its most like just a day trip, tampa really isn't that far for me, but the thought is appreciated.

Good idea on fort desoto, been there before, its cool and near the don cesar hotel, which is neat to visit.

OCOD does and he is in Miami and a top notch negotiator. I would get that boat if it was up my way. The runners are all expensive this time of year. I have a good 787 for it and if the electronics are gone then it could be run off a MSD Enhanser #4255.

Not worried about the Engine.. Just wanted to know if its a Drop in.. Like would I need a shaft or is there exhaust missing.. etc. But your right I was thinking a Twin now.. I also think seadoosource has a Mod Kit for Mpem.. Or I can keep Crushing on these twin 717 deals that are at 5000$ and keep hitting them low until they see no one is going to buy a 20 year old jetboat for 5k...

Well that's a no brainer then. A good looking boat that's easy to save selling for cheap right at the beginning of the season.
 
don't forget, Keith @ seadooupholstery.com is right over in Lauderdale..... you can pick up precut seat's very reasonable and be well on your way to a quick restore. brand new seats help a boat sell so fast !
