I just got into model rockets with my son the other weekend. I bought him 2 for his birthday a few months back and we finally got the chance to launch one. He was loving it. We started off with one that goes 675', now we just finished the second one and hope to launch this weekend if the wind cooperates. This one has a projected height of 1150'. We already have our sights on one that can reach up to 1900'. No matter what, it's an addiction. Heck, I bought a 3 pack of engines and we burned through them in 15 minutes and I ran to Michael's Craft store and bought a few more packs. I think all told we burned like 12 launches that day, LOL.

nice, sounds like fun, my brother used to do model rockets back in the day, not sure how they are now, but I always thought it was counterproductive to spend time, paint, and glue together small parts and have it most likely not return to you :)

frankly so would I.

i still look on CL everyday, not seeing many winter deals

me neither, at least not yet, some decent pickups locally, I picked up and parted out another 96 gtx last week, got rid of almost everything within a couple of days, got lucky, knew a guy that was looking for GTX parts, he wanted to buy the same gtx I found but I beat him to it by a couple of hours. He bought the MPEM, stator/flywheel/pump, and another guy bought the hull/misc a couple of hours after, the trailer sold on Sunday. In the End, ski purchased on Thursday, and everything except a spare tire and a spare winch was gone by Sunday evening. not too bad and my wife barely noticed that I had a project going. it never works out that well !

4 strokes are dropping in price tho, there was a 2002 GTX 4tech for $2400 for Sale sunday morning, the guy sold it for $1700 the same day, that was a big WOW.

anybody been riding lately, or is the florida season over too? haha, florida's season....... spim, what r ur personal skis now, just the gp?

ya just the gp, still poking around for a 4 stroke, haven't pulled the trigger yet, would have been easy if I had money burning a hole in my pockets. still riding, our last rice was from pine island to englewood (ski alley) , nice ride.

Heck yes! Me and two buddies rode X4's through the grassy trails over off the St. Johns in Jax last weekend.

Matt, I would've loved to have met up with you and your friends in JAX!

I did have my Yami GP1200 out on Sunday afternoon after church for a test ride. Temp here was 73°F. I'm a wimp so I wore a shorty and it was perfect deflecting the cool water. Looking at a high temp of 54° tomorrow :ack: .
