This boat ran great for years!! twin 800 cc rotax engines close to 300 hp porsche on water I hate to get rid of it I just dont have time to finish. just been sitting= recent things that have been done
-reupholstered seats have it all sitting in garage never put on boat. rebuilt both jet pumps and new fluid- new computer and dess key - bored both engines out new wiseco pistons / rings clean carbs - new hot rods crank shaft ($650parts alone)in port motor just never finished installing fully in boat- needs motor mount bolts and install the oil pump installed - and a steering cable. a little mechanical help and you got a great boat. 3gs obo need it gone my loss your gain.

2004 sea doo gtx supercharged ski - $2400 (ft. lauderdale)
this ski runs very strong just been serviced fresh oil, new filter, plugs, fuel flush, new filters injectors cleaned, fresh fuel with yamalube additive, new motor mounts..great compression. wet sanded compounded waxed ski has only 38 hrs just needs a little more tlc new seasts . test drove runs very strong but runs hot just dont have time to repair, comes with trailer if interested you may contact me 954 793 8zero66 text me if you want pics

Hi Everyone, First time post here so take it easy... Im looking at buying one of 2 2004 gtx supercharged's. The one listed in this post over heats, (the guy says could be thermostat, ride plate? maybe radiator?) But hits top speed, starts right up, and compression checks out, the other is 3400 with 85 hrs and has no issues. Ive been reading a hundred pages of this trying to learn. Please chime in.

Many of us have found skis for ea other and many from miles away.
Did you see it or you called?
The 2nd would be the best deal if nothing is needed and comes with a trailer.
The SC have their major issues w/ SC rebuilds at 100 hrs or less that cost ~400-600 bucks depending if you work on it yourself.
The are also issues with hollow exhaust valves up to late 2005 or 2006.
We'll keep a look out for GTX for you.

Thanks ocod, Im at MM 17, I live on really close to the reef with access from my back yard. Im looking to buy prob the 2nd choice this weekend, I just want to see what you guys think. I will attempt to do all the work myself, how does the SC build compare to auto maintenance?

Depends how you like small spaces or are double jointed and have a third skinny hand
All is doable seeing anybody called a mechanic at the dealer can remove spark plug.
Best thing is always to water test it and put it though it paces and look for leaks or sign of salt water corrosion.
Its always a problem with salt water skis.
I don't have experience w/Seadoo's 4-tec motors. Only what I've read which I said about SC rebuilds.
Forgot to add older SC washers were ceramic and shatter causing major repairs before the 100 hr mark $$$$.
That is a must!

man,,, these are getting cheaper every week ! amazing how quickly the used 4 stroke prices have dropped in the past 18 months or so, used to be $5500 was the starting price for even the beat up ones ! This is really making me re-think things

For sure. Its all economics. But its the repairs that get ya!
Its a no brainer if your looking at a newer two stroke for 3-4k why not buy a 4 stroke then.
Even 2-3k you can find beat up rental 4 strokes for right under 3K
Good newer used 4 stroke are 5-7K
New is 8K for a base.
You can do anything in repairs but its the engine work that is no longer a 1000 rebuild. Especially in the SC models.
Theres a guy in 4 stroke section of PWC that is the GURU (cyrillefrency) and breaks down rebuild. Looks ugly and complicated but doable in a weekend.
I just took out mounts on my 2nd ski and used Rhass mounts. Lifetime warranty and look so much better than the stock ones. Wanting going to pay 3hr labor to do this!

Saturday is Iffy for me....I might ride in Cape Coral just for a test run to make sure my resistor clears up my overheat sensor warning.
Sunday i'm riding either Charlotte Harbor or Caloosahatchee
Monday, Nammer and I have a ride planned on the lower peace in the morning if anybody is interested.
(we're flexible on time but tentatively we're at 10am, and that crazy man plans on riding double with his wife on my XP !) so i'm bringing one of these.
