Sorry I replied to chills before I read the rest of the thread. Crap, your right the deals don't last long up the north. I didnt realize JSG was in Michigan, no sense me looking there. LOL

We have been texting him since 9pm, we texted him an offer, he said tomorrow at 3 pm someone was coming to get it for asking price, he then said we could pick it up tonight for $800( so he went back on the deal he already made) that made me suspicious. So we could be there by 1am, he responds thats too late, we said how about 9am, he said he works from 8-3. So we said ok let us know if the other guy doesnt buy it. He then said to come tonight, 1 am is fine. We said we would be there with our compression tester. This is the best part. He says since its winterized it wont start. He also said the compression would be high since he winterized it. The compression might be high from fogging it, but it will start, it would just kick everything out the exhaust. We are going to pass on this one, just too many weird things, why would he want us to come, if he has a buyer tomorrow, and why screw that guy over, he could just say if it doesnt work out ill call you. Plus now when we say we are bringing a compression tester,he says it probably wont run due to winterizing it. Then he said why would i winterize it if it doesnt run, i dont know maybe from keeping the jugs from cracking. Im not spending $100 in gas just to get there and be dissapointed

Ya that's odd, I text him at 10.14, and have not received a reply yet. Now I know why................he's been tied up with you all night. Did you notice that he had the Doc do the carbs, not sure what a polished carb is, I thought that was a cylinder thing.

For me, as long as the hull and mpem is in good shape I can buy it for 8 and drop a rebuild in for $1G and I have a good runner with a warrenty for not much over $2000. It will cost me close to $3000 to buy it here in the summer with 200 hrs on it.

how much does a 1997 GSX go for up there in running condition?
A rough looker but running will cost $2500 to $3000, I nice looker with lower hours will be over $3000. Prices dont drop much here in the winter. You will see many up for sale in July for $4500 with a trailer. Not sure if they actually sell them though.

super insane prices, kicker, we used to have kijiji, but it looks like it's ebayclassified's now, yea canada is super crazy on things, how much would it cost to get one through customs, like i've thought about selling all of mine before, so i wouldn't be against just trailering all 3 up north as long as i had a buyer.

jetskigoodies, what is a decent going price for a running 97 gsx in your neck of the woods

$1800-$2500 it all depends on condition and trailer or not. Its funny because, the 96 and 97 are just slightly different but the 97 would sell for more. Its all about how they look.

I am not sure how it would work for you to bring them across. I have bought 3 this past winter in the US and I just declare them at the boarder and pay our Federal tax and go home, no duty or brokerage. I would think because they are your skis you can just bring them into Canada, they don't need to know your selling them. They could be going to a repair shop for fixing for all they know.

If I bought one from you and you brought it across the boarder for me, all I need to do is fill out a form to get Ontario registration. numbers.

I have not done this so I am not 100% sure but thats the way I see it. If you serious about it, I can dig around more to see what is actually the legal way and what you can get away with.

Lol, this guy is great, we texted back, it will start if it was winterized, he texted back asking if we have even winterized or dewinterized anything before. He was starting to get snotty, He said he wouldnt sell junk, he wouldnt even put it on cl if it was, I dont know him, but i know he wants my money. Oh well, cant get them all. But we try:thumbsup:

I don't want you wasting your time and looking into it unless it's super easy and you may be interested in skiis from the states or know of people who are, cause i mean if one of my skiis will sell for 3000ish and I bring 3 of them, i def wouldn't mind a couple thousand mile drive, cause i'm real flexible with my time

my 96 gsx has less than 40 hours on it
my 97 gsx has less than 80 hours on it, if that helps :)

Well after seeing that picture, I remembered seeing it before on a post where pravius was lookimg to buy a seadoo and Brock1 posted that pic,

Im almost positive ii is Brock1, he has had that seadoo for sale all summer, im shocked its still available. I just went back and looked over his posts, he picked that gsx up for $300 and the 96 xp up for $200, good deals but he has had some issues with both.

I think his compression will be high because he has oil leaking into the cases, so it either needs a new rotary gear seal or the crank seals. Also he is only hitting 6400 rpms at wot, and i didnt see anything about him finding the problem.

It would also make sence that its him because he sent a set of carbs to Tony.

In his xp listing he said it has only 20 hrs on the motor, but he bought it in sept 2011

Very true, a 720 is so slow to me now, but my first seadoo was a 650, when i moved up to the 720 it was night and day difference. I thought that 720 was a rocket, then we hit 787s and never looked back. Still a good deal though, it looks clean.

It is purdy Nam but those colors and the lack of an "X" say no. It's the body of your 97 but without the power and speed. You can't go backwards once you taste the performance. Well you shouldn't in my opinion anyway.

yea u guys are def right, I just love love love that color scheme, unless it's an instaflip when i have space, I don't think I'm gonna touch anything with less than a 787 now, cause it's awesome riding with myself, but these smaller motors can't keep up with everybody else.

ask him what time he wants me to pick it up :)

oh and little bit of advice, if he asked you how much you LOVE neptune, just say you've never heard of it before
