What do yall think of this?
Waiting for pictures but thinking about offering $400 if it has a trailer.
I know the busted starter may have messed up other things. Without being able to start it or even compression test i will treat is as a parts ski.

Got the pictures, no trailer and looks like he already started taking it apart.
I offered him $200 if it has a clear title.
Looks to be in good shape but as always it is wet in the pictures.

the raves are off....not a good sign if he's just sprayed it down and gotten the inside wet. 200 is easy money for a parts ski though if he takes the offer

That hull is sun faded as hell. The water isn't even beading up

Cleaned up the 95 XP a little so i could stick my hands inside. Its actually in pretty good shape. Pulled the plugs, fogged the cylinders, greased the PTO & carrier bearing. Pulled the plugs and turned the pto by hand. Got all excited so i put a battery in and spun great with the plugs out. Checked spark and it looked good so i shot some premix in the holes, put in new plugs and tried to turn it over. Battery must not be charged enough or the starter is bad. It tried to turn but not enough to spin it fast enough. Have the battery on charge and will see what happens.
I found the old registration so now i need to try to contact the previous owner to see about getting a title.

The guy with the 96 never answered me, i guess i insulted him.

I am hooked now and its all your fault Matt. I am going to try to start finding the cheap ones in my area to either part out or fix and sell. Let me know if you come across any here. If there is something around me you see that you want let me know and i can grab it for you.
So if i get the 95 all cleaned and in good working order with a title how much should i sell it for? I know it would probably sell better with a trailer but i really don't want to let that go.

I should have mine finished and listed for $1200 today if things go well. Without a trailer I would say $1000

That thing massive!

ya, I actually worked on one this time last year, ($200 on trailer) oddly enough it still has a standard hull access, just lots of extra fiberglass on the outside vs say a GTX... in other words you still needed monkey arms to access stuff... another sucky aspect was that the hull edge was so dam wide you almost had to climb on top of it to do anything, which really pissed me off... I considered contacting this seller but not sure I want to mess with another beast... I figured i'll wait another couple of weeks, he can't be getting too many calls considering how badly he mispelled the listing.

you'd be surprised how many times I find deals listed under Jet Sky, CL's search engine is very picky, must be exact or the listing doesn't appear in search queries.

matt, it's awesome to see a guy as honest as you, glad you're out saving these doos, rather than just flipping them for a quick buck

Hey,

Matt. I have some XP parts if your interested.
Whole hood, seat, rear lid ans some misc hoses......

Thanks Nam for the kind words.

Thank you OCOD for the parts offer but I have tons and tons of stuff. I can't even walk around without stepping all over it so please don't send more.

I have an Iphone 6, what's wrong with my photos? The ski needs another bottom end. I don't see anything wrong about it from the outside but it's wrong. I would loose money to spend more of my time working on it right now. If I have it over winter I'll dive back in. It's not the first time that engine failed me. I had it in a Speedster and it would not run worth a darn. I got to thinking afterword that I must have used the 657X 147 degree RV and not the 159 that the 717 needs but no such luck. It needs to be built from the crank up but the hull is not worth it really. I'll keep an eye out for a cheap 717 with life left unless it sells as is first.

The craigslist pictures look like they don't have any color in them. Maybe its just a setting. The better the pictures the more appealing it is to a potential buyer. Thats why i mentioned it.
