Hey all,

This is my first post. I used to own a SeaDoo back in the 90's but sold it for a boat. The boat got sold for a camper when I had kids and now they are old enough so we just bought 2 used 2007 GTI SE 155's. I'm picking them up on Saturday and was wondering with the new models, how can you run them safely on land to check them out?

Also, what extras would you recommend I get like anchor, fenders, etc.? Any recommended products would be greatly appreciated since this is new again.

Greg

Welcome to the seadoo forum Greg. Those GTI's have a inter-looping cooling system. They shouldn't be run on the trailer for longer than 30 seconds as they will over heat. The heat exchanger is part of the ride plate and is only cooled when the seadoo is in the water. The only thing that needs to be flushed if used in salt water is the exhaust...in fresh water you don't need to flush. As far as safety equipment...the PWC is a Vessel and needs the same equipment as a boat of the same size.

Thanks Karl. So I can briefly start it just to make sure it runs. I didn't know if I could hook up a garden hose and run it longer. What do they do in the shop?

Greg

Greg, the only thing that get water when hooked up to the hose is the exhaust system. The engine has no effect with cooling from the hose. Look at the thickness of the ride plate under the jet pump. It contains anti-freeze that is inter cooled to the engine...If you let it run on the trailer it will over heat in a few minutes! If you need to just fire it up, do so and then shut it down. I own a 2008, 200 speedster with 2, 4-tec engines @155 hp each. Only run it when it is in a test tank, or in the water to cool the engine.

So the dealer uses a test tank? That makes sense.

I was thinking of getting an anchor, tow strap, and collapsible paddle. We have 2 PWC's so I figured the tow strap and paddle could be used either way if needed. I might need 2 anchors. What about fenders? Are there any good ones for PWCs? Can't think of anything else I would need.

Thanks again.

Greg

Well fenders could be used...but the bump rail is kinda low to most docks... Give it a trial run and give it look see.
