extended warranty or not?

My girlfriend and I are one step away now from buying an '08 speedster 150, 215hp. We'll most likely be getting it this saturday, and I was wondering if it's worth getting an extended warranty on it. I was recommended by the owner of a 2003 sporster to get one, and I'm sure the dealership will recommend it too. I dont know much of anything about these engines, and although we have friends who know a lot, I'm always leary about trying to fix things without the knowledge myself. Not being a mechanic, do you think it's worth the money for me?

I personally don't spend the money on extended warranties on anything. I do my own repairs and enjoy getting into the what ever is broken. For you it can offer piece of mind for an extended amount of time. It also helps in the value when you sell it if it hasn't expired.
