ok so there is a leak for sure inside somewhere but i have looked everywhere and i cant find it

even when it runs idk i cant see it anyway i can find out easy and fast where the smoke it leaking from and any special testing anyyone thought of?

i was thinking about maybe closeing the exhaust exit hole that way maybe i could see from where the leak is would that be a problem? thanks for any help

If it is just all smoke check the exhaust connection to the ???rubber pipe???? .
Mine had slipped off once and filled it with smoke....was quite louder too.

If water, you should be able to see it spray out while running.

Where are you in Michigan?

mine its just smoke no water that i know of i checked all clamps there all tight and good i think if there was a hole there might be water pouring in but i dont see it
and im in michigan sterling heights

I've seen the water box develop a hole before, mine was off of a 94xp, it was made of thin aluminum and developed a pencil-sized hole on the bottm. Those water boxes are easy to remove, pull yours and check it. Have you removed your upper pipe recently? Has this problem just sort of "cropped up"? I just had a hell of a time getting my upper and lower pipes to seal properly on my 97 SPX with the 787 carb motor.

i bought this ski last week and i noticed it was getting to smokey in the hull im not sure if other owner move any pipes off or anything

but couple days ago i did notice the exhoust exit (last rubber peice before exit) was off the hole i reclamped it and it was much better but some still leaks in the hull

One option would be to make sure there is no smoke in the hull and do not connect it to the hose. You are going to need a helper so get your head in the engine compartment and start the ski, as soon as it starts have the helper cover the exhaust outlet with a rag. This will create back pressure and force the smoke out of the leak. The helper is going to have to listen to the engine and remove the rag if it starts to die and then plug it again and repeat. The only harm you will do is to stall the engine as long as you do not have water going to the engine. Also do not let the engine run too long because there is no water and it could overheat so you might have to do this a few times and let the engine cool between tries.

Can you try shooting a video while it's running...it might help to pinpoint the leak.

Also, change your gray tempo fuel lines out ASAP. change them to black auto lines with an inline filter. See the "how to" section by Dr honda about fuel filters.

well even when its running its still hard to find it iv tried a lot ill make a vid tomarrow with it running

but did u see that long black thing on the side i think there has to be a leak on that somewhere i mentioned it in the vid

where are these sound baffles and what do they do

and also i would like to go ride it tomarrow will the smoke effect much?
inside the hull

The smoke will starve the engine for oxygen and you will need that to make it run so yes the smoke will be a problem. You are going to have to find the source of the smoke before you can ride it. Sorry. The other issue is that if there is smoke leaving the exhaust water could too and flood the ski/engine, both bad. Your ski does have the exhaust resonators so that would be my first place to look since you have tried all the other usual suspects. There is a post today titled New Resonators or Bypass that you should read.

yea i posted on there i found it and i think that is my problem to ill try to bypass but waht kinda pipes to use im still not sure

A suggestion - spray bottle with soapy water.... run it and soak the exhaust, see if any bubbles form. Might help locate it.

here is what ive done, here is what it looks like, -- i seen you looked at the other post, i put the hose number on the other thread about bypassing resonator

yours is a 2000, mine is a 1999

ok thanks everyone i found the problem the left side resonator the one under ur foot had a huge crack on the bottom of it i cut it out and im gana put in a stainless steel pipe at the end should be good

that brass fitting in the black plastic piece on mine had clogged up before, its supposed to be on top, so sediments dont settle in fitting, i dont think it will hurt anything, when you stat it on the hose, reach up the ehaust with hand, and make sure it has a nice stream of water, this hose comes from the cooling plate under your motor (its another way to check your flow) i check mine when i flush it, you can loosen it all up, and turn black threw hull piece 180 around, and just reaseal it with some silicon, (it only goes in 2 ways) there is a notch
