ok. havent used my 98 seadoo challenger 1800 all summer. went to start engines and nothing. not even turning over. pulled plugs both engines full of oil. oil res. was empty. i know i filled it up. so tried to turn with plugs out got one engine to start still nothing on other.
so any ideas??? know what i could do to fix?
did search and alot of issues that dont help.
have had boat for 4 yrs now and have never had any problems so guess am well over due.

Hi and welcome to the SeaDoo forum.

Probably the crank seals, even though it sounds strange that it would happen to both engines at the same time.

Lou is prolly right. leaky rotary valves would cause a slow lek, but the whole tank to be empty would prolly be crank seals but if it is twin engines that is kinda odd. Try to get the oil out of them. You can pull the plugs and use a shop vac or put rags over the holes and turn it over. Keep doing that till the oil is out. Then put new plugs in and see if it fires up.

thanks for the replys. did get one engine to start that way. was hoping some other reason. guess i gotta take it in.

i have a 95 speedster and ONE of my motors would start and one woudnt ,, so i check and found out that the CRANK SEALS WERE BAD.. so iam having the motor over hauled , new pistons ,seals o-rings, etc... when it comes spring i want n/p with this thing .
goog luck ,i used alot of rags and old shirts to obsorb the oil from the motor . joe

ummmm.. NO. Crank seals are a job the average home mechanic cant do. The center of the crankshaft has a gear. That is the gear that drives the shaft that runs the rotary valve. The seals on either side of that gear can't be replaced without having the crank rebuilt. The engine must come out and be torn down. For the average home mechanic, the best route is to get a remanufactured engine with a warranty.
