Electrical box lid gtx?????

I purchased a 98 gtx limited and noticed the rear electrical box lid is held on with zip ties. Is it supposed to have a fastener of some kind or is this how seadoo designed it?

I have the same on mine. The clips break over time and since you dont want water in there the zip ties is a good option to keep it sealed.

just make sure your gasket on the lid is good and present

It looks like the previous owner just filled the gasket area with silicone grease. I’ll have to try finding a replacement gasket.
