Sorry for this newbie dumass question, but I have noticed that my shop manual uses the term ECU in its troubleshooting section and some people in this forum inter-changeably use ECU and ECM. The term isn't included in the list of acronyms in the shop manual, but my assumption this is electrical communication unit/module (or similar) and it just an alternate reference to the MPEM (multipurpose electronic module).
