I already have one Optima Blue top in my boat and am looking to put another, I was thinking on putting one on the starboard side opposite the stock location. My question is on securing it to the boat. How would I go about securing a hold down to the fiberglass flooring in there? I am looking to do it this weekend so help would be appreciated.
Second question is on the flush nozzel under the trunk lid, the little red one I hool the hose to, to flush out the engine. I broke it and see that it is a discontinued part. Any ideas on replacement? It is spring loaded so I am worried that if I turn the engine on it water that it would squirt out.

Thanks
Karl

There are several ways to make a place for a second battery, but I think the easiest way would be to get another battery box and just install it with screws of the same lenght of the battery box you already have.

The flush nozzle?... That's not a big problem. If you look into the engine compartment, you should be able to see how that flush line ties into your engine water. You can google "Perko Fitting" and should have no problem finding one that will work. Lots of our parts can be purchased from regular distributers like "West Marine" or Boats'R Us. If it were me, I'd probably go to Lowes and find something to work from the Plumbing section. There is no really high water pressure on that system, so a small ball valve, hose and a cap for attaching the water hose is really all you need.

In the meantime, if you want to use the boat, go under the hull, into the engine compartment, disconnect the hose and put a plug in it. You won't be able to back flush right away, but you can add a hose fitting yourself... not hard....

Thank you for the reply. I havent looked under my current battery yet to see the type of screws hold the tray down, it currently has the original tray. I was worried about screwing into fiberglass, I thought it would crack.
For the Flush nozzell, I will check it out now, it was convenient having that fitting where it was. I go in the ocean a lot so I use the salt away dispenser there.

Dual Batteries and Battery switch installed

Taking off the engine hatch really helped and it only took about 2 hours to do.

I bought the parts to fix the flush nozzel but one of the fittings is the wrong size.
