Hi all,

Im after some towing comments really. I want to tow a ringo with a 1997 GTI but can only find videos for 1997 GTX. My question is will they pull the same and spec wise are these similar craft? Engine? Hull?

I think the GTI i have is the 727 2 stoke rotax so advice on towing would be great.

Ps i get what you lot would call the Seadoo Shake on my craft, im assuming this is normal, it does go when i apply throttle.

Pps the slip i use is very shallow any good advice for getting the ski on and off the trailer? the trailer is not on rollers just a bed.

Thanks all in advance

They're pretty much the same ski, the difference being the motor.

The GTI has a 717 developing 85 HP, and the GTX has the 787 with RAVE valves developing 110 HP. Either ski can easily pull a tube (ringo). In most places in the US a driver and an observer are required to pull a tuber, you need to check your local laws.

The SeaDoo "rattle" is normal and is caused from play in the drive shaft, the shake is not, you should check your impeller to see if its nicked or bent, also could be caused by a bent drive shaft.

I don't know exactly what to tell you about the trailer, it sounds like you are trying to use a flat bed trailer to tow the ski. I guess that would work is you mount some bunks to the trailer. You'll need to go further in the water to get the ski on the trailer. With a boat trailer you just drive the ski on the trailer, my guess would be you will need to winch the ski on the trailer.

Wew! I think that's about it. Good luck.

Hi, Lou

Thanks on the ringo front, i had hoped it would pull one all ok!

I think i used the wrong terminology, it is more of a rattle but will take a look at the impeller anyways it cant hurt to take a look.

I understand the trailer issues i think it might be time for a overhaul of the trailer anyways.

Thanks for the help again
