Dead ECU I think...

My 2011 GTX 215 is electrically dead. I was connecting the battery negative lead and there were a couple of normal light sparks on the lug as the bolt was being connected, and then it all stopped. Reconnecting the negative has no sparking, the LCD display is dead & no beeps from the DESS key. I have verified all fuses/relay are good ( continuity test), all connectors re-seated, tested with a different/good battery, so I'm wondering if the brief sparking killed the ECU ?? If an ECU has died will it prevent electrical continuity like this ?? Is there a way to test this ECU ?

Sure sounds like the 30 amp relay in the fuse box. Usually when the ECM goes bad is stops supplying grounds to control accessories. If your sure its not the relay go back to the battery and start following the power to fuse box. Make sure you have power to the fuses and relays in the fuse box. Could be your battery ground also.

Great advice. I only did a basic ohm resistance test on the relays pin 85 to 86 as I don't have a test lamp handy. A stupid question but how do I test power to the fuse box ?

You need a service manual with wiring diagrams and some basic electrical knowledge and a test lamp, the ECM does provide the ground for the control side of the 30 amp relay when the start/stop switch is pressed. The relay is cheap and readily available when you get to 3.

Update: I confirmed power is getting to all fuses, all fuses good, and good ground from battery to the engine.
