crankcase oil?

I buy a 717 engine but is using the gasoline mix with oil because doesnt have lubrication system and Im wondering if I need to fill the crankcase or just leave it without oil

well, 2 stroke motors have no crankcase oil sump, but list year of ski and type, along with engine size so everyone can guide you

I do believe that you need to keep the oil tank at least 50% full of the right oil. to keep the gears inside lubed.

The sky is without oil tank, use gasoline mix with oil on tha gas tank

On your engine and ski, the oil tank - holds - 6 L (1.6 U.S. gal) of BOMBARDIER Formula XP-S II synthetic injection oil
OR BOMBARDIER injection oil (or equivalent ) and put a new set of plugs in it -- Spark plug
Make and type NGK BR8ES
Gap 0.4 - 0.5 mm (.016 - .020 in)

and i just re-read your thread, and u say oil injection system has been eliminated ??? if it has, i , personally cant tell u proper thing to do then, ok ??

You must keep the tank as it lubes the RV GEAR. It's get the oil from gravity feed line from the tank. Premix won't do that.

Check to see if they looped the two oil lines in the engine.
One coming from the bottom under carbs and other under exhaust manifold "t" together

Oscar - how does the RV get the oil then. There is no oil tank.

The oil isn't consumed so level should monitored in the line
I guess line is filled through the tee then capped.

OCOD is correct. Sounds like you are good to go. As long as those lines are looped, it uses the same oil over and over.

The oil really doesnt even PUMP through at all...otherwise there would be brass shards in the oil tank.

Most people loop them together with a "tee" and use the Tee as the filler hole.

It should be changed out every year or two.

yip a simple $.50 Tee from home depot with a cap, works great, all mine have been setup like that, just make the T accessible, and check the levels. (often after the first conversion or a rebuild, then semi frequently afterwards)
mine seems to use up a "little" over a stretch 8-10 hours of running, so i just keep an eye on it, and top it off with an ounce or two when necessary.
