Not sure about the ST part, but I see it has the later style impeller shaft seal. What year did that change?

good god that's a dirty engine !!! doesn't anybody even TRY to cleans stuff up ? I think i'd have to put a dam clothshanger on my nose before I lifted the hood, i bet it looks significantly worse than this... (the last motor i pulled)

Is that rust? Wow, what a steal. I always love the "easy fix" line. So fix it and sell for more as a working ski. Oh, wait, they already have it listed for a working ski price, bummer.
 
there was a 99 gsxl listed for 950 for a long time, all it needed was a new engine, which is only a grand from SBT, so you could buy it, put a grand into it, and have a ski worth 2k.... whoopdie doo!

actually at $950 its not a working price, a working price wold be $1950,
however, with that said, a 'steal' is $450.. $950 is a fair price but he'll never get it. i'm guessing eventually he'll sell it for $600 at best.
as a buyer, i'd automatically assume it needs a crank as well.
