I am putting new engines in and need to repair 2 long cracks, one under each engine. repairing them is not the problem. The problem is getting the water out thats traped in there between the inner and outer hull. I thought about drilling a 1/4" hole under each engine at the outer hulls lowest point :ack: to let all the water drain out then patch the holes. Any ideas?

I would use a shop vac (wet/dry) and some heat. Use an electric heat gun to warm up everything... then use the vac to help it evaporate. If you can just put it out in the sun... that would be the best way. A day or two with the deck lid open, on a sunny day will purge the water. I would not recommend drilling holes.

Thanks Tony, I'll try that, and when you need to get out of the BURG this summer with the boat try comming up my way, nice lake (Kinzua Reservoir) 99 miles of shore line, 17 miles long, all in the National Forest, boat access only camping as well as drive in sites for the camper, rock climbing, big bears that come up to you and scare the s*#t out of you at 3 AM.

Since I can't break away from the shop for a real vacation... the wife wants to take a few long weekends with the boat. We've talked about Kinzu, and Presque Isle. If we do decide to head north... I'll give ya a yell.
