Coolant System of 787

fan number 17

So I just got one of my 97 SPXs running. It won't run for long but it is enough to force water through the system. This was previously a salt water ski so I am prioritizing flushing any saltwater that has been sitting out. Looking online the diagram I found doesn't seem to match the routing that I have. Does this seem correct? Does the water discharge from the head? I pulled both hoses to check water flow and they both had flow into the head. the one higher up on the head definitely had more flow but the other had some. Is one of those supposed to be a discharge?

Seems they are reversed. Water inlet should be on the lower part of the head, portside. Notice the outlet hose has an adapter with a cap on it: That's where you can connect a garden hose to backwash the cooling system, flushing back any salt and debris. That outlet should be connected to the upper, starboard side.

As @lagojaguarasp said, your head cooling lines are backwards.

There are actually flow arrows cast into the head just in front of the hoses.

You also need to fix the hose clamp at the front and you are missing the pipe support bolt. You will break bolts and the pipe will leak without that support bolt.

The hose clamp on the front hose is just slid back on the hose, I had it off to check if water was getting that far. Appreciate the catch of the bolt, didn't even notice it.
